The Official: I'm playing GTA 5 Thread.

Has anyone noticed how hot the ps3 (slim) gets when playing this game compared to other games? I mean I could actually hear the fans with GTA V.

What I like about the game:

-Graphics, If you thought GTA IV had good graphics you are in for a surprise, they really pushed the limits here. I'm really shocked on how the console can handle this game.

-Customisation, not just for cars :)

What i Really really dont like:

-Driving engine....ugh  its like freaking burnout, nowhere near like GTA IV.
-You die....a lot! In missions it takes like 5 shots and you are dead, its really unfair.

I have a slim as well and I haven't noticed mine getting any hotter/louder than usual. Played for about 6 or 7 hours last night without any issues and I'm probably gonna be playing for longer than that today.

I actually love the new driving physics. The cars handle way better than they did in GTA IV IMO. I was constantly crashing my car in GTA IV, but not so much with this game. Putting money into a car (engine, brakes, turbo, etc.) also makes a big difference.

Great game! Absolutely loving it!

I was disappointed with GTA IV, I really struggled to finish it, my fav GTA is Vice City. Playing GTA V though, man I'm having a blast again!

I am disappointed by the customization options though, they feel incredibly limited. Cars don't have a lot of customizable options and clothing and accessories for the characters feel lack luster. Outside of that thought I'm loving the game!

Oh and I have the new "super slim" PS3 and man does GTA V make my PS3 sing! You'd swear a plan was flying by overhead lol.

Being bored at work and wishing you were at home playing, I came across this...

I downloaded and installed the GTA-V manual, and was looking through the voice overs. After some googling on peoples names, found that their real life counterparts, look exactly the same as in game (well close enough).

Well as some of you may have read/noticed, this is my first GTA title I've played on Xbox and kinda a console noob :P

My question is simple, what are the differences between the different aiming modes?
ie. GTA IV style, assisted, free aim

GTA Style - Completely assisted, it's like using an aimbot, you can't actually miss.

Assisted - It helps you centre your reticule on target closest to it.

Free aim - You aim where you please, not lock on or assistance at all.

Finally got to play as Trevor tonight and man was that fun!!! :D

How far into the game do you need to be?

Side note, although I enjoy the game very much I still reckon Red Dead Redemption was a better game. The 10/10 this game is getting is not deserving - 8.5, maybe 9/10.

Is there a PC release date set??? Doing some searching now on the net

They said they "might" do a port.

I love how they say they are not going to make GTA V run on the next-gen consoles. Either they do not want people to stop buying GTA V now and will announce a "by popular demand" release sometime next year or they are working on something awesome. Can't think of another reason they would not push it to the PS4/XONE

Not that far, couple of hours in depending on if your playing the story mode or just faffing about.

8.5 is being completely unfair even for a subjective opinion. I agree that Red Dead was an amazing game, but I'm only willing to draw comparisons once I've finished GTA V and had a chance to reflect on the whole experience.

Fair enough, but it doesn't capture me like RDR did. Maybe it was the setting: wild west, cowboys, saloons that did it for me.

To me RDR was brilliant as well.. but that's because i'm a big wild west fan so i can understand where your coming from but GTA is brilliant in its own way too :)

Rockstar has announced Grand Theft Auto Online will be "a dynamic and persistent online world for 16 players."

I'm still unclear as to how this is going to work.
Will only you and your crew be in the same world or will anyone/everyone globally be able to jump in at any given time.
Will it be region specific or all sharing the same global world.

Details are very sketchy and a bit of google searches don't seem to resolve much. Just trying to figure out how this will work, so please excuse my ignorance.

The game will auto matchmake you with other players. Priorities go to your crew, then friends, then people of your rank. You can however change the settings to play with whoever you want.

GTA Online will be populated by your friends and crew members first, before shifting to include players of a similar skill level from your geographic region. The option is there, however, to fully handpick everyone you play with. When you start your online adventure, you'll have to choose your character's parents, lifestyle and preferences, all of which determine your starting statistics, which can be upgraded. You'll also be able to select a female avatar.

Shot, dunno why I never came across that, I was searching mostly on IGN.

----------EDIT----------

Do you think we as South African's will have latency issues with this regard?
I'm not that experienced doing multiplayer on Xbox, I predominantly use it for single player games.

Anyone else playing this having issues with cars saved in garages? I have modified a motorcycle with Franklin and parked in the garage at his house and it was there for a while, but when I wanted to take it for a spin it was gone. No impound, no Grovestreet Garage no nothing, gone for good. The same thing happened to me with a Porsche-looking car that I parked in Michael's garage, I spent a lot of money on both of these vehicles so they should register as the character's property, but I can't find them anywhere.

I'm kinda scared to modify cars now, because it can get expensive and I don't want to keep losing my money. Where is the best place to park a vehicle and be sure that it will be there when I want to drive it?
