The Verge

I've only watched the show twice and I quite enjoyed it. I'm pro gaming. It's a gaming show and it's done quite well. I don't understand what some people's problem is with it.

I agree with you Solitude ... it's better than having nothing and if you don't like it, either don't watch it or provide constructive criticism.

Thank you. Someone that understands that some gaming show is better than no gaming show.

Quite honestly you dont need a gaming show in this modern world. Nag gets the vids and a hell alot of them at that and then you have the internet, wich makes the verge useless.

But while NAG is bought by people who often play games, the Verge can help to bring new people into the gaming culture.

I think the verge would really put people off who do not play games. Take for example when the show live demos and they stuff up then those people who want to start will think, If they cant play that properly then how in hell will I.

I tend to watch the Verge, but they tend to focus on games I don't really care for. Not into violence/kill all/point a gun 'n shoot games, nor really racing games for that matter. I like the weird stuff on offworld.com. Meh. Anyways, instead of using up my bandwidth to watch trailers I can check some of them on TV instead.

Go Verge, Go Verge...A wider variety of games would be nice. Instead of the heavy-handed stuff (and what's with all the coverage on Section 8? It looks sucky) and Need For Speed stuff, some stranger things, like, as I say, from Offworld, would probably open up their target audience a bit. Getting tired of seeing some developer talk about how his game features new combat modes, when all it is fundamentally is pointing a gun at a virtual player and shooting. (Chunder)

On the plus side Pippa's announcing's got a lot better (perhaps a little TOO fast?) and the Indian guy's kinda goofy and funny. Not all bad.

Cybergames...was that the name of the show? There used to be a TV show years ago that I used to ask people to tape for me ha ha. That was great.

I'm not too fussy about the video quality. As long as I can see generally what's cracking. Maybe my eyes are just getting swak.

Except...

Exactly. Gamers will pick up magazines, and gamers will read gaming stuff online. Random people who don't game might watch a gaming show, though.

That isn't really such a good thing. there are too many people who call them selves "Gamers" and than alot of developers try to make more and more games, intead of better games. (Pointing fingers at E.A. here) but thats not realy what this topic is about.

I dont have a problem with the Verge however it would be nice if one of the presenters joined us here so that we can give them updates on the games currently hitting the market :)
