Following a rumor last month that Nintendo is allegedly funding a Beyond Good & Evil sequel exclusively for NX, Ubisoft has filed a new trademark for the franchise.

The trademark was filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office -- first spotted by DualShockers -- and is for "Beyond Good & Evil" under several different class designations, including game software and an online component, as well as paper products and even clothing.

While this could very well just be a move by Ubisoft to resecure ownership of the Beyond Good & Evil franchise, it could also point towards an impending reveal, should a sequel indeed be on the horizon.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 was originally announced back in 2008. Despite the incredibly long wait, series creator Michael Ancel recently confirmed the sequel is still happening.
