The Rampage supports up to 64GB of DDR4 330

Here I was hoping it would take 8 x 16GB DDR4 sticks.

I know that bus speeds etc is important and I get that some people that can afford this go for it.

For people on a budget you pretty much use any mboard you can get, and rather focus on getting enough RAM, a nice CPU and a decent screen card, because those are the main factors when it comes to playing games.

If I buy this board I wouldn't be able to afford anything else.

Yip the 7k is a bit of a problem... The main concern for me though is the other components on top of the 7k... If you go with the top of the line board, you want the same spec processor, ram, GPU, etc...
