Valve gets its game on with VR

Now that's very interesting indeed.

I've saved up for an Oculus Rift but now it has competition. And competition is good! I can't wait for these VR sets to come out! :D

They do sound amazing, but with the amazement will come a hefty price tag...

The whole VR thing really does excite me, but does it not make things really impersonal?

Valve is showing off its virtual reality gaming headset prototype at Steam Dev Days

Oculus Rift has too much momentum too have it all behind, at least I'm hoping that (love you John Carmack!). However friendly competition is necessary in all fields and might have these developers pull out some fancy tricks to stay competitive.

Is this the definitive version of modern gaming-grade VR? No motion sickness to speak of compared to the crystal cove of Oculus. Kinda need a side-by-side comparison.

Highly doubt we'll see that any time soon, I'm also not too fond of the VR concept, I like my peripheral vision where it is :P Not in a black void of emptiness.

Definitely very exciting. I wonder if this is the future of gaming. Would third person games still be possible?
