I recently reinstalled this game, but have come into a problem preventing me from opening the game.

Upon opening the exe, this is the message I get

Unable to get IFileSystem interface from filesystem factory

Can anyone help me? This is the only thing preventing me from continuing this game any further.

This. You'll need to install the Unofficial Patch and, well, just follow the instructions on that link. Sorts out a lot of problems.

Bloodlines is one of my all-time favourite games.

True Patch Gold is awesome! Install that one instead of the unofficial patch. I don't think you should install both.

True Patch Gold is awesome! Install that one instead of the unofficial patch. I don't think you should install both.

I have been wondering about this game, glad a fellow Gothic / Risen fan enjoys it.
Will now look at getting it from somewhere

Even after copying the files of the patch, the problem persists. I knew this was going to happen.
I just want to re-install Windows, maybe it'll fix this and many other problems.

Don't! It's a good game... If you want I can teamviewer into your pc and see if I can fix it, I'm usually quite good with googling and trying to find out problems.....

I still do feel that it's about time I reinstall Windows. May fix many of my other existing problems.

Edit: the problem I've having, happens even after installation with no mods or cracks attached.
Must be a windows error.

I reinstall windows at least once a year. It's a pretty effective way of minimizing issues.
