Mr. Nice Guy
Cool I voted. It went quickly and things were very well organized.

Rather interestingly, a young white guy in front of me was voting for KISS and an old black guy behind me was voting for COPE. And I voted for VF+. It's quite strange that out of the three of us, neither the ANC or DA got any votes. I enjoyed chatting with the two guys.

Tell your voting stories here. :)

Well done Solitude, I'm going to head off shortly. No long lines? Did it look like it was filling up as time went? I just don't want to go and end up waiting for too long in the cold :P But I'll do it anyway.

I was there quite early so I missed the queue, but a long one formed by the time I left. I hope there isn't one when you go mryan. :)

Hahaha. Well I checked it out and there was a long line. Came home and had some breakfast, then going to get someone to join me in the queue. If Im waiting might as well wait with a friend.

I went there at 7... Took us about 25mins to get in , vote , get out ... when we got out the line was huge!

Solitude, I'm REAL glad you voted man! As for those two other gentlemen - regardless of who they voted for - I'm glad they did!

Come on lads - this is ONE day in 5 years ... and you'll regret it if things don't work out well!

well i got my Vote in damn waiting at the power station there was a longer queue than the last time but hell im glad its over and done with :D

For those in favour of DA did you guys see the news???

Every party leader/member jumped to the head of the queue but helen zille chilled in a line for 3hrs like everyone else  now thats dedication :p

^ thats cool.

i spent 1h12 in the queue, but got to make my choice.

the only the thing that p!ssed me off, was that there was an anc stand just at the gates serving coffee and rusks, but with singup forms to join the anc for a small fee, and then you got the "FREE" coffee

I walked down to Hudson park just after 10H00 and spent about 35 minutes queueing before not voting for the government.

I have just heard on the news that there has been some unrest at some voting stations and that an IEC official has been shot.

For those in favour of DA did you guys see the news???

Nope. Good to see at least one politician not taking advantage of her position.

Wizdumb, did you report them to the IEC? You should have. It may be against the rules.

We had an oldish couple selling biltong and muffins near the entrance of the place we had to enter to join the queue and a single policewoman on duty.

Bloody bastages are taking advantage of the elderly... it makes my blood boil!!!

In a positive scene ... this morning outside my voting station, policemen caught 2 burglars and had the dogs on them :D

And even just as good news ... police were also taking down ALL political posters on street poles in a 500m radius of the station. DA / ANC / COPE / all of them.

Good show!

1 hour. pta east. faerie glen. Que did however move...

...but the station was in "dense" area, with all complexes and so forth.

Ja the Anc was at the voting station in my area as well. isnt there some rule that your not supposed/allowed to campaign on the day of the election?

Voted in Sandton.

We got there at 12 and were out by 1.

Was quite cool actually, quite enjoyed it :)

I find it amazing how people are so cagey about who they are voting for in this country...

Go DA!
