Square Enix teased a remastered, PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy VII back at E3 2015 -- and today we get a better look at what that remake means. Final Fantasy VII kicked off the PlayStation Experience keynote this morning, with a two-minute trailer for the remaster (embedded below) and news that the original game is available on PS4 today. There's no word on a launch window for Final Fantasy VII on PS4 just yet. Update: That said, a press release issued just after the trailer suggests that the remake could arrive in episodic chunks, in what it's calling a "multi-part series, with each entry providing its own unique experience." Hrmmm.

Am I the only one not trying to look at this since I remembered it how it was back then and don't want to ruin it like I did with Baldur's gate 2 enhanced edition. Fking broken game is broken.

Thank goodness still have my original cd and on GOG.

I know this is a remastered but still HD remake, remastered, and enhance they seem to use these terms interchangable.

While an HD remaster was released this past weekend the article is actually referring to the remake (i.e. it's being built from the ground up and isn't simply an hd remaster like we've seen so much of the last few years - much like the original Resident Evil was remade for Gamecube in 2002). You should check it out, it looks awesome. And even if it does end up disappointing, the original isn't going anywhere...
