We build a gaming PC on a PS4 budget

Yes, and then 5 years from now, will that same PC still run the games that came out in 2019 on quality graphics settings?

It will run games at the same level as it did in 2014. The PS4 will have the same issue when you consider that the Watch dogs is maxing out the PS4 at 900p at 30 FPS so if in 5 years that PC is still running games at 1080p at 30 FPS then it's worth it IMO.

Other things to keep in mind:
You pay a gazillion $s for PS4 games
The pc is way more versatile.
CPUs have reached the point where you no longer have to have the best to game decently, so a gpu change should suffice to get you back to running the new games at -most probably - better graphic settings than the PS4, when the time comes. (Also, with all the money you'll save from not having to buy $1million games, this will be easily achieved.)

i love my PC, but i still prefer to game on my XBOX. if i had the money to spend, i would still choose to go with the PS4. the argument about PC games being cheaper is certainly one to bear in mind, but PS PLUS has definately gone a long way to balancing out that situation.

Thats what they thought about the PS3 though in the beginning, but then they find ways to get the most out of the console, Its pretty easy to say that we will see games on the PS4 in 4 years time that will have better graphics than watch dogs.

Precisely. When Uncharted 2 came out Naughty Dog had said they'd pushed the PS3 to it's limits, and then when Uncharted 3 came out the graphics were even better. Then compare both those games to The Last of Us. So it's all about optimization and getting comfortable with the hardware.

Trie but those efficiency tweaks aren't exclusive to consoles, as things advance games become more effective on their hardware. If you want to keep your PC at High end then you will be constantly upgrading but I still have a PC downstairs from 4-5 years ago that can still run current games at decent levels, maybe not max but at medium it still looks like the max settings I got when it was new.

I would also go with the PS4 purely from a longevity point of view... The cost of the games is a factor yet... But the time i have to play games these days im not buying so many anyway...

Yeah i probably upgrade my PC every 3 years, graphics card probably needs an upgrade near the end of the year, but I still play most games on max settings.

Im sorta neutral on the PC / Console Debate, I love both, have a PS3 & a PS4 and a PC, probably play my PC more though, but still love console gaming.

I used to be all PC master race, but got over that. Yes, the pc is faster. Yes, the pc can do more. Yes, the pc can be upgraded. Yes, the games cost less at launch. Problem for me was I liked having the latest and greatest, so it started working out a pretty penny. Buy latest, sell it a few weeks/months later at a loss, just to get the latest again. And I'm pretty sure there are quite a few guys/gals out there like this, and even more so that if they could, they would. In the end the costs involved just didn't give the desired result, i.e. just having fun with what you have. Sold my gaming pc in January, and haven't looked back since. My PS3 and PS4 are getting more than enough game time and end result is I am having fun again, just gaming. I've missed out on quite a few gems gaming wise when it was just COD and BF multiplayer for me.
