Widescreen fixes and mods

Tsar

The thing that should not be
So prophet gave this idea to me. Post widescreen fixes for old games that don't support them natively.
And post mods that enhance the graphics of the original game.

Command and conquer
So all the old cnc games are easy to fix. Go to the .ini file and change the res manually. But first start it up and change the options then go in the ini file and change it

Now cnc generals is a little harder. you have to go in the ini.big and go to general options in the file and change the height accordingly. And the res there. Bec the old way would give you probs. Will change the res but not the map height.

I also use a Samsung 24". I find the best for me is 1900x1080 or 1900x1200 but the first one is most native to the screen.
With that said my SLI 8800GTS doesnt like that high res on some of the newer games, then I stick to 16:10 resolution.

You use your native res dude. If you go lower it's starts getting blurry.

As the other guys said, it should be 1920x1080 or 1920x1200. Just check which one looks the most crisp.

Freelancer I had to really dig to find a 16:9 res changeand even that it doesn't work 100% Widescreen just plain sucks anyways.

They are only good for some games. Others you have to really trawl the internet. Like the heroes hd mod. And some of them require extensive editing. Like battle for middle earth.

exactly, nice thread start. maybe we should link the op to fixed we post in the replies ? i'll dig around and look for some fixed involving bg,toee and so on.

Mmmm. For temple of elemental evil you would just change the res in the toee.cfg file. It works. And looks good as well. No problem with the text either.

Mine actually doesnt get blurry at all, however it stretches and just looks kak!!

But thanks guys I guess I will definitely use that 16:10 ratio :)
