wii u

Is the wii u a buy or pass?

I personally think its a pass, cause motion control is what made the wii so popular, changing that to the touch screen controller would be pointless, although they can use the motion control

They have over-killed the wii now

It looks very compelling to me. If I were a gamer vested in the Nintendo ecosystem, I'd be upgrading to Wii U from Wii. The backwards compatibility is a great selling point.

Considering how much I'm enjoying Zelda Skyward Sword right now, I'll be depressed if I won't be able to play the next instalment in glorious HD. +1 for backwards compatibility.

i'll pass, the processing power of the wii u doesnt seem that impressive imo. I enjoyed my wii when i got it about a year and a half ago but i rarely use it these days, im sure the same will apply to the wii u if i ever got it, on the other hand i've had my 360 since 06 when it launched and im still playing it on a daily basis

I play games, not processing power the last time I checked.

The wii u will definitely be the relatively weakest system when compared to the next gen ms and sony offerings in terms of processing power but by what margin? Will it be noticeable? Will you be able to tell where the extra Mhz went when the end product is delivered? Look at the ps2 for example, the weakest in it's generation, but the most successful.
I have to agree though, the wii was seriously lacking in the power department when compared to ps360 but it does have a good amount of fun titles.
Not gonna get engaged in a typical graphics versus gameplay debate with you. Just saying I'd prefer gameplay with acceptable graphics. I guess you prefer graphics over gameplay? ah well that's cool too.
Sorry for derailing.

Everyone can rant on and on about hardware power, but it always comes down to one thing: game titles. Nuff said. PS2 is a great example of this, and I bet my socks that Nintendo will be pushing big titles out in the next few years, especially given the fact they will be breaking onto new ground via HD gaming.

I can definitely see that happening. They are already looking to release Batman and Assassin's Creed on here. Third party titles are needed to create a successful system.
