Entry: Wave Wave (iPhone)

Well what can I say, to describe the game in 5 words: ''Brutally hard but insanely addictive!" To play the game you have to use one, just one finger. Keep the finger down on the screen to allow the line on the screen to lift up and release the finger to let it go down and you have to manoeuvre through a side scroller maze... "Hmmm... Wow!! Sounds real simple I thought" (Laughs at his past me thinking that)

First attempt 0.19 seconds!! WTF!! I thought
Next couple attempts between a second and 3 seconds!! Nah, I thought must be some kind of April fools joke, haha!
After aimlessly tapping and letting go for well over an hour, my hight score was 6 seconds. It was supper time now, so thought let me just go to the bathroom and grab a chow! But before that I said let me try one more time.... heheh! biggest lie ever! That one more time turned into another and another and another and then finally I said enough is enough, had something to eat at about 10:30pm, parked the car, locked up, changed into pjs after a while and ignored a message from my chick asking to chat tonight. In bed I started playing again while resting my head on the pillow.... time passed and a 'battery low' notification popped up causing me to lose and not improve on 9.1 seconds and then only did I see the time 3:30am
I put the phone on charge and slept as I began developing a pounding headache and dreaming of a strategy to improve my score :D

The next day on campus, my chick gave me a lesson and a half and was extremely pissed at me when I told her I was playing a game (we very honest with each other) and that amounted to one solution, DELETE THE GAME! and spend more time with her.

The next day or 2 went fine as I was coping fine without my craving for Wave Wave but the my cousin had to visit me and show me his high score of Wave Wave of 35 seconds and had to, just had to beat him...

And so returned the Wave Wave cycle which had a huge amount of dejavu to it!

P.S: I finally quit the game, went to an imaginery rehab centre and happy to say that I enjoyed it alot when I did play even though extremely infuriating at times. So iGames I would like you try the game out and reply to me (please do try, I know it will be extremely difficult to find the time while trying to beat your score) of this most addictive and challenging iphone game ever ;)

Goat Simulator

A game that took a few weeks to create but has the sandbox potential to break your funny bone. You begin the game as a....goat. You can hop along, kick stuff, lick stuff, Bunt stuff, Blow up stuff and potentially bring on Armageddon.

If you have 20 mins before going out somewhere this is a nice game to fill that time and just have some mindless hilarious fun.

Entry: Dark Souls 2

So far I have died about 266 times and counting!

The sequel to the critical success of Dark Souls and its spiritual predecessor Demon's Souls which single-handedly, in my opinion, made punishing and brutally difficult games popular once more. There is something genuinely unsettling about Dark Souls 2. This feeling is enhanced by the emptiness of the experience. Aside from cryptic message left on the ground by other players and the ghostlike apparitions of past travelers who met their doom, I felt truly alone in Dark Souls 2. This is a game that really appeals to the kinky masochistic gamer inside of me in the way it ruthlessly hands my ass to me!

Well... what can I possibly say about this game.. so much cussing and frustration! haha. /cough cough/. The boss battles are so intimidating - HOLY CRAP! They really make quick work of you! 2 hits and you're dead. nada. Going toe-to-toe with these powerful foes provides a familiar rush of adrenaline, and beating them often results in an overwhelming sense of achievement.

This game staunchly refuses to hold your hand, a move that flies in the face of most modern games. The pace of the game is slow and methodical, giving incentive to explore but at the same time punishing careless behavior. Patience really is key in this game.
It had filled me with such dread that few games have ever done. Even the simplest enemies can be a threat later if you let down your guard..

Another excellent game from From Software, although I'm not really a fan of the hub-world which is a first.
