Hey ppl... Does anyone play wow and can you tell me if there are any local private servers and if its worth playing the game? i dont want to pay for an account if I dont like the game.
 
Not really an excuse bud. Blizzard offers you a 10 day free trial, more than enough time to catch the gist of the game and to decide whether you should pay for the game or not. No need to run around on free (illegal) servers.

That from a pure legalistic point of view. From a game play type of view, maybe it's a good thing if you start on a free server. You are sure to stop playing the game fairly soon due to incredible amounts of bugs, hacks and cheaters. Will save you many an hour that you'd waste on this great, but mind blowingly addictive game.
 
There are local servers but its not worth playing on them, there are not a lot of people on there so most of the best features will be impossible to play like for example dungeon raids. As tempy said there is no excuse for not going the legal route - you can get the 10 day free trial or if you are clever you can buy the original wow for about R180 (comes with 30 days play) register a battle.net account activate the trial and then upgrade that with the wow that you just bought, then activate the 10 day burning crusade trial, giving you a total of 50 days play time for the price of R180.

Make sure you can get the updated client or be in a position to download about 5 -6 gigs of updates.

After years of experience take my word, private servers aren't worth it. You'll pour hours and hours of gameplay into a character just to find out that it's only capable of playing half the game.

And then there is some Database error and you loose your 5 level 80 characters with all there gear and all that the admins can say is oops sorry.
 
Okay thanks i'l check the trial 1st to see if its worth me paying for the account
 
Does that work? Last time I checked you had to be in England or Germany etc to be able to recruit a friend and receive the game time.
 
Yeah...scrolls of resurrection, too, annoyingly :mad: Why, is beyond me, as the game is officially released here. People like shafting SA.
