WOW lead Producer moves on to Blizzard's next MMO

It won't be in the current Blizzard "universe" as stated by them earlier when announcing this. However, I wouldn't mind if it's something like Freelancer

Not a bad idea as the only other Space MMO's I can think of atm is Eve Online and perhaps Star Wars Galaxies.

At this point, I thought Blizzard had just said that it wont be in the WoW universe?

I will be a sad panda if a StarCraft MMO is out of the question, especially after reading this
 
Go check around Blizzcon 2007/8 not sure which they announced there of the mystery MMO...And if its gonna be like Freelancer im gonna kick wow in the panty (sorry Voicy) and go play freelancer LOVED THAT GAME ) Also I can think of alot more Space MMO's but most of em are F2P

You can check gamespot.com I think, don't have the direct link now.

And the reason why I said Freelancer is because I loved playing it too, huge universe and it would be awesome having 1 server instead of several. Imagine 11 million people in "space" on one server. :D

Of course, nothing beats Privateer. Freelancer is the next best thing :)

Man, I never thought I'd find such good posts in the WoW section :p

But, seeing as I am a fan of Freelancer / Privateer and all the way back to the Wing Commander series, I agree with this 100%!

Eve Online is one big universe, so Blizzard should be able to do it as well. I like big universes and not being bogged down to a server... where you and your friends are not on the same server, it sucks.

The move of such a critical person is not surprising though... I mean WoW is getting old by now and even from talking to friends that play WoW, lots of them are already bored again after WotLK. They were very disappointed in fact. For all we know, Blizzard can already see the numbers dropping.

There are lots of movement in the industry among the big players that are getting ready for The Next Big MMO. Interesting times ahead.
 
The only crap thing about Freelancer was that the NPC's would say exactly the same thing everytime :(

Otherwise it was an awesome game ;)
