Hi

What is the difference between the Official brand Microsoft Xbox 360 VGA
cable and the [usually] cheaper ones made by other companies?
Is there any noticeable difference in quality?

no Difference Really, the only Difference is the price between the 2 and with the generic cable u usually only get the cable but with the official 1 u get a vga to vga female adapter also included (i have sold hundreds of the generic cables and i havent noticed a difference in quality yet between that and the official one)
 
I heard and read a few threads online about this, and some people were not happy with the picture quality of the generic, where as some said it was fine. Apparently ghosting was a big issue with the generics.

I just bought the original for piece of mind.

never had a ghosting problem with any of the generic cables i have sold or the 1 i have been using for almost a year now, some people try to run the games at resolutions their monitor dont really support and thats when ghosting, blurry images usually occur
 
That is good to know, Dohc. One of my brother's colleagues bought an Xbox 360 Elite,
then lost interest in it and will be selling it in January for R1800. Depending on my expenses in December and January, I just might buy it. Also need to find out if she kept the warranty and original packaging.
