XCOM: Enemy Unknown unveiled

brilliant news!!! FIRAXIS are the kings behind many of the Sid Meier classics. I especially loved Alpha Centauri. this will be infinitely better than the generic FPS bollox being spat out by 2K
 
I'm totally okay with this.

I think this is what X-Com fans really wanted - I'm still horribly leery of 2K Marin's version.

Just FYI - Hiro - Firaxis is a 2K subsidiary :p and they have been since the release of Civ IV. Still mostly Sid Meier's baby though - and if he's helming development (I sincerely hope he is), then I think we have something to look forward to :D

Slight typo in the first paragraph there though - Nic spelt it as Fireaxis. I'll admit it sounds pretty awesome - but typo anyways :p
 
hehe, yeah i knew they were owned by 2K as well, but was referncing 2K Marin's tacky and inevitably horribly generic FPS bollox :-D blatant corporate cash-cow. which is why i am SO excited by this upcoming turn-based strategy title. I am a sucker for old school turn-based squad combat games

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Best news all year :P :D One of my most favorite games of all time! I even played the original last year for a few days!
