Cricket Power – official Cricket World Cup game, EA not involved

15 February 2011

Cricket Power is the official ICC 2011 Cricket World Cup game, and will feature all the names and teams that will be playing in the upcoming tournament.

The game is only available as a download, and costs $10 (R70). You can grab it here, and you can try before you buy by clicking on the ‘Net Practice’ icon.

The game supports single as well as online multiplayer gameplay. Neither of the cricket game stalwarts Codemasters and EA have anything to do with this licensed project, but from our brief time with the free playable portion of the game, we found it to be surprisingly well put together.

Although Cricket Power is aimed at casual gamers, it also features enough depth to keep cricket enthusiasts engaged. Individual players have different statistics, and the production values are rather impressive for a game which runs in a browser window.
