The truth behind No Man’s Sky Steam refunds

30 August 2016

MyGaming recently reported on a number of digital distributors that were offerring full refunds for No Man’s Sky, regardless of playtime.

This caused massive controversy in the gaming community, as it would make it the first game to bypass Steam’s 2 hour refund policy.

Speaking to PC Gamer, Valve has stated that this is not the case, and that the same rules apply to No Man’s Sky as to any other game.

As their policy states, Valve will automatically refund any game for any reason if the request is made within fourteen days of purchase, and the title has been played for less than two hours.

Things got so out of hand that Valve has updated the No Man’s Sky Steam page to reflect that no special treatment is being given.
