Gran Turismo Sport delayed indefinitely

30 August 2016

Gran Turismo Sport has been indefinitely delayed, according to a news post on the Official PlayStaion Blog.

The game was due to release on 16 November, but has now been delayed indefinitely to give developer Polyphony Digital more time to work on the title.

“As we approach our planned release date in November, we realise we need more time to perfect GT Sport, to which we’ve already dedicated so much effort to since announcing the title, and do not want to compromise the experience.”

“While we cannot confirm a new release date at this time, we are more committed than ever to making GT Sport the best Gran Turismo game to date.”

The good news is that Polyphony do plan to show the game at upcoming shows and allow for plenty of hands-on time so they are definitely still hard at work on the upcoming game.

Some gamers are speculating that this could be a tactical move by Sony, as the game would release squarely in the middle of the holiday season and would face stiff competition from other titles, including Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 3.
