These days, when gamers want to be heard, they get organised and put together a petition. The Killzone 3 community is slightly upset that the co-op campaign mode is local play only, and they are petitioning for Gurrilla Games to somehow enable this feature with an online mode. This makes perfect sense, and MyGaming also lamented this lacking feature in our Killzone 3 review.
The single player game is a fun romp and it is made all the better when played with a friend. Unfortunately, it’s a well-known gaming fact that playing games in split-screen mode sucks. The PlayStation 3 also struggled at the busier moments of Killzone 3 during our time playing the co-op mode, so there’s another good reason why each gamer would like to have a their PS3 all to themselves.
It remains to be seen if there are technical reasons why online co-op wasn’t implemented in the first place, but in a game that supports 24-player multiplayer, there better be a good excuse.
If you want to lend your voice to the cause, head on over to the Killzone 3 online co-op play petition page.
