Sony was earlier spotted advertising a position for a senior corporate counsel and senior paralegal to aid in “developing and implementing an anti-piracy program” on SCEA’s recruitment site.
The listing has since been removed, which means Sony either found somebody really quickly, or they got camera shy when they realised the entire internet was looking.
Apparently, the position was looking for someone who could display a “Deep knowledge of trademark and copyright law” and “knowledge of online investigative practices, online databases, anti-piracy and DMCA tracker products and services”.
2011 has been a tumultuous year for SCEA, what with Geohot cracking its console’s security features wide open and letting the whole world in. Sony has taken Geohot to court over it, and the hacker recently raised enough cash via donations to not only continue with the battle, but also to hire an extra lawyer.
