Snapchat is no more.
On Friday, the company announced it would be changing its name to Snap Inc. and would be focusing on markets outside of the Snapchat app.
Snap Inc’s first big product will be the “Spectacle”, a pair of video sunglasses that promise to surpass any video shot by your smartphone.
“The Snapchat Spectacles record 10-second clips of video through their 115-degree-angle lens, which makes it closer to the human eye instead of traditional cameras,” reports The Wall Street Journal.
“The glasses record the video in a circular field instead of the usual rectangle or square and can then wirelessly transfer it your phone, so you can share it with your friends on Snapchat.”
A pair of Spectacles will reportedly set you back $129 (R1,768). There is currently no official release date.
