Kwesé Sports hosts R100,000 FIFA 17 tournament

Kwesé Sports, Econet Media’s premium sports content platform, in partnership with Xbox has announced its first African Challenge Esport (ACE) gaming tournament.

The tournament will be held in Johannesburg at this year’s rAge Expo from 7-9 October followed by Cape Town at Canal Walk from 28-30 October.

The tournament will focus on the recently launched FIFA 17, with a R100,000 prize pool up for grabs.

“We are committed to constantly engaging our audience in new and creative ways,” said Joseph Hundah, CEO Econet Media.

“The gaming trend and community has grown dramatically over the past few years in South Africa, particularly e-sports, Kwese acknowledge that gaming is now an official sport and we want to be there to support gamers across the African continent.”

“It’s an exciting time in gaming and with the launch of the new FIFA 17, we saw an opportunity to connect our audience with their favorite sports.”
