Asus launches FreeSync monitor targeted at console gamers

21 October 2016

Asus has announced the VG245H, a new 24-inch gaming monitor targeted specifically at PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners.

The Asus VG245H features two HDMI ports, which is available to connect your media player, allowing you to connect your game console and another HDMI device at the same time, eliminating the need to frequently unplug and change your connection.

It features a 24-inch Twisted Nematic (TN) screen with a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 75Hz refresh rate, 250 cd/m2 brightness, 1ms response time and 100,000,000: 1 contrast ratio.

The monitor is still completely compatible with PCs (providing it has an HDMI cable) and features AMD FreeSync support, which the next generation of consoles could take advantage of.

The ASUS VG245H is available internationally for $190.

There is currently no South African pricing or release date.
