Why you shouldn’t buy Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare from the Windows Store

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is officially available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

However, there has been one major problem with the launch of Infinite Warfare on PC – the Windows 10 Store version of the game is incompatible with other PC versions.

This means that gamers who purchased Infinite Warfare from the Windows Store on Windows 10 are unable to play with gamers who installed the game through Steam.

As the vast majority of PC gamers use Steam over the Windows 10 Store, this means that consumers who purchased the game on the Windows Store will have a far smaller player base than Steam users.

Additionally, any gamers who purchased a physical copy of the game and activated it through steam will be unable to play with Windows Store users.

It is difficult to see why Windows Store purchasers are restricted in this way, as they are also unable to crossplay with Xbox Live gamers.

This restriction may be lifted in future, but currently, the Activision Infinite Warfare FAQ firmly states that Windows Store gamers can only player with others who brought the game on the Windows Store platform.
