Minecraft’s latest console update makes it nearly comparable to the PC version

22 November 2016

Mojang has unveiled its massive Holiday Update for Minecraft, which adds a ton of new features and long-awaited gameplay changes.

The free update is the biggest of the year and will introduce new mobs, items, blocks and status effects in addition to UI, game, and tutorial updates.

This means the console versions of the game will now be almost completely comparable to the original PC version.

The Holiday Update for Minecraft: Console Editions is the biggest update of the year, with additions like the Elytra for ultimate gliding and Amplified Terrain for extreme highs and lows.

The update will launch in late December and will be free upon release for owners of Minecraft on consoles.
