World of Warcraft free-to-play week for recovered Warcrack addicts

8 April 2011

It’s been about two years since I turned my back on Azeroth. It was a difficult by necessary move, and I fully understand the perils of being a World of “Warcrack” addict. “It’s a bit like having a second job that you don’t get paid for,” is my default answer for people who ask me what WoW is like. The worst part is that you stop caring about other games.

So when I received an email designed to lure me back into the fold, I couldn’t help but feel a mixture of excitement, trepidation and pure, exhilarating fear.

“We noticed that you have not played World of Warcraft for awhile. Claim your 7 FREE days of game time!” were the words it cunningly waved in my face.

The offer expires on 20 April, and I will be desperately fighting the urge to not click on the supplied link.

For those who have never savoured the sweet taste of defeating an elite boss in one of WoW’s end-game raids, or been called a “noobtard” by a thirteen year old Swede, you can get your own ten day free trial here.

Beware though, the patches are gargantuan and the WoW pull-factor mighty.
