With the recent Steam sale still fresh in the memories of PC gamers, most enthusiasts probably have a few new additions to their game library to enjoy this weekend.
However, there have also been a couple of new releases this past week, including small indie games and triple-A titles.
Whether you’re interested in jumping into the latest big game, or checking to see if you missed anything during the post-Black Friday mayhem, here are a few games you should try out this weekend:
Darksiders Warmastered Edition – R43.80
Darksiders, the classic slash-em-up title from THQ Nordic, has been remastered and re- released on Steam.
If you previously owned the Steam version of Darksiders 1, you would have automatically received a copy of the Warmastered edition on 29 November.
If not however, you can pick up the game for the low cost of R43.80 if you’re quick enough to catch the end of the Midweek Madness Sale today, 2 December.
Junk Jack – R159
Junk Jack was previously a mobile game which has now landed on Steam.
Don’t let that put you off however, as the game has very good reviews and looks like something between Terraria and Stardew Valley.
Terraria players will feel familiar with the 2D perspective and gameplay, but Junk Jack has a central focus on settling and surviving the land.
Watch Dogs 2 – R799
Despite the controversy surrounding the original Watch Dogs game and its generic main character, Watch Dogs 2 has delivered great gameplay and an engaging cast of hackers.
Perhaps even more surprising, the game actually runs well on PC, which is becoming an increasingly rare quality amongst triple-A titles.
If you’re looking for a good open world experience set in a modern world, Watch Dogs 2 could be your new favourite game.
Neverwinter Nights Diamond – Free
Neverwinter Nights is one of the best role-playing games ever made.
Created by Bioware (the folks behind Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and Knights of the Old Republic), Neverwinter Nights is an older RPG, but it is a must-play for fans of classic PC role-playing titles like Baldur’s Gate or Icewind Dale.
The Diamond Edition of the game includes all three expansion packs, and is free from GOG until the end of Saturday.
The Dwarves – R359
The Dwarves is a high fantasy tactical role-playing game based on the acclaimed novel by Markus Heitz.
The game features an intriguing main story coupled with sleek modern graphics and modern real-time combat.
The Dwarves began as a Kickstarter project and has been published on Steam by THQ Nordic.
If you’re a hardcore role-playing game fan looking for something with a focus on action-packed combat, give The Dwarves a try this weekend.
The Dwarves looks amazing! Thanks for the tip!
