The surprising game that’s topping holiday wishlists

Final Fantasy XV is the most wanted game this holiday season.

This is according to a survey conducted by GamesStop which polled the holiday’s hottest item.

The complete top five is as follows:

1. Final Fantasy XV
2. Battlefield 1
3. Pokémon Sun and Moon
4. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
5. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

While Battlefield, Pokemon, Skyrim’s and Call of Duty’s appearance are all relatively unsuprising – the fact that Final Fantasy is topping the list as opposed to Battlefield 1 or Call of Duty is genuinely surprising.

While the series has always performed much stronger in the West, JRPGs have typically not sold as well as their Western counterparts.
