Over the last two years, Nvidia has been building a database of the most popular titles’ graphical and performance settings.
Unlike many graphics performance guides however, they don’t just offer a broad explanation of what settings do.
Instead, they tackle each game’s individual settings – explaining not only exactly how the settings change the graphics but also what effect reducing the graphics will have on your framerate.
Despite being heavily Nvidia-focused, the guides are applicable to most modern cards.
As a result, they’ve become an invaluable tool and you should definitely check them out when given the chance.

GeForce Experience does this automagically, as far as I know.
