Naughty Dog held a press conference on Friday at which various details regarding the multiplayer portion of Uncharted 3 were revealed. A multiplayer beta was also announced, and PlayStation Plus subscribers will gain access on 28 June. Regular plebs will be able to take part from 5 July.
Naughty Dog sent out a lengthy press release detailing the multiplayer side of Uncharted 3. Below is a summary of the key points revealed:
– Split-screen multiplayer has been confirmed
– It will be possible to sprint
– It will be possible to customize your character, emblems and weapons
– There will be a free for all gameplay mode
– There will be a 2v2v2 team death match mode
– It will be possible to kick enemies hanging off edges
– Playing with a 3D setup may give players and advantage
– There will be cinematic in the multiplayer
– The match making has been improved
– There will be an emblem editor
Naughty Dog is calling Uncharted 3’s multiplayer is “a complete evolution from the initial foray we made into multiplayer with Uncharted 2. The leap forward in gameplay, technology — not the least of which is 3D stereoscopic support — and depth is nothing short of astounding, no joke.”
Uncharted 3 is due out 11 November 2011 and will be released exclusively on PS3.
