Everything’s better with somebody else, and the Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta is no exception. What could possibly be better than blowing some Locust’s head off with the new sawed-off shotgun at point blank range, and hearing your significant other declare the lounge sofa your new, um, camping spot for the next week?
Hold up, though. It’s not quite as simple as all that. In order to earn yourself a “friend token”, you’ll have to:
– Buy Gears of War from Games on Demand, any of the Gears DLC, or any Gears Avatar stuff
– Play 20+ hours of the Gears of War 3 beta
– Buy a 12-month Xbox LIVE Gold subscription
– Play 100 or more hours of any Gears of War title, to date (including single- and multiplayer)
If this applies to you (now, or at any point in the very near future), you can expect a shiny beta code to turn up in your email inbox on 8 May. Get moving, there’s a war on.
