After a week or so of dropping big hints on Facebook, Ubisoft has formally announced the third and (allegedly) final entry in the Ezio Auditore series of Assassin’s Creed games.
The game will see Ezio up and off to Constantinople, in the beating heart of the Ottoman Empire, where he will probably spend a lot of time climbing tall buildings and stabbing people. Alongside the single-player campaign, Ubisoft is also promising a “refined and expanded” multiplayer component, with new modes, maps and characters.
The concept art below shows an aged and greying Ezio.

“Delivering the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy is an important milestone in the Assassin’s Creed franchise for us and for our fans,” said the project’s creative director Alexandre Amancio. “Assassin’s Creed Revelations includes lots of new features and some significant surprises. We can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store at E3 this year.”
It has also been revealed that gamers will not only get to play as Desmond and the charismatic Ezio Auditore, but also as series original Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad.
The game is scheduled to launch in November 2011 on PC, Xbox, and PS3.
The first screenshot has emerged, showing Ezio dangling from a tall building, and brandishing a hooked blade weapon.
