The next version of the Apple iPhone will be waterproof and have wireless charging, according to a statement by Wistron CEO Robert Hwang.
9to5Mac reported that Hwang, whose company plans to manufacture iPhones in India, said the next iPhone will include the features.
“Assembly process for the previous generations of [iPhones] have not changed much, though new features like waterproof and wireless charging now require some different testing,” he said.
Hwang said his company is currently making a “small number” of devices for Apple, according to the report.
The option to produce a large number of iPhones in India will depend on Apple’s relationship with the Indian government going forward, stated the report.
