Yesterday we reported that CD Projekt was planning on showcasing a brand new game at this year’s E3 conference. Sadly for console gamers, it seems that it was not the much anticipated Witcher 2 console release, and is being billed as something “completely new”.
However, speaking to Eurogamer, the developer’s senior producer Tomasz Gop has hinted that a Witcher game will be announced for console at the event.
“I can’t say anything obviously for gazillions of reasons but it is a Witcher game, and I can say that console gamers might be interested in it,” said Gop. His statement really doesn’t leave much to the imagination. The only thing that remains a little vague is whether it will simply be a Witcher 2 port, or something different altogether.
We do know that it will not be The Witcher 3, with Gop saying “I’m not going to lie to you, we haven’t started work on The Witcher 3.”
The Witcher 2 has been widely praised by critics and gamers alike, achieving a 90/100 Metacritic score.
