First official Modern Warfare 3 screenshots

26 May 2011

Much to the chagrin of fellow staffer Chris Kemp, here is the first batch of official Modern Warfare 3 screenshots. Not like that horrible ‘leaked’ screenshot a while back – ptooey!

Activision is slowly cranking up the hype machine on this one, and as usual with anything Call of Duty, it doesn’t have to do too much work as the fans will take the ball and run with it.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is being developed by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games. The game will launch worldwide on 8 November 2011.

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is by far the most epic Call of Duty experience yet. The teams at Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have worked tirelessly to create for the Call of Duty player a scale that is unimaginable with a level of polish and creativity that will push the genre forward,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc.

“The passion and energy of our developers is reflected in everything about the title.  From the innovative gameplay, to the cinematic intensity, to the most advanced multiplayer ever, Modern Warfare 3 will raise the bar for this already incredible franchise.”

The 2011 holiday season is shaping up to be a good one for FPS gamers, with two titanic modern combat syle shooters going head to head – Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3.

It’s a battle of the three, so I suppose it’s apt that we have three new screenshots to share.

Now hopefully I’ve waffled on long enough to make room at the broad section of the page for the screenshots.

One can enlarge the images by saving them, or by the usual method: right click -> view image
