Intel’s Skylake processors are being discontinued

Intel has discontinued several 6th-generation Skylake processors, which have been succeeded by the Kaby Lake and Coffee Lake architectures.

The company issued a Product Change Notification outlining the status of its Skylake processors.

According to the document, market demand for 6th-generation processors has shifted to other Intel products, based on a newer microarchitecture.

The last product discontinuance order date is 30 March 2018, it said.

The following products are affected by the discontinuance:

  • Intel Core i3-6098P
  • Intel Core i5-6402P
  • Intel Core i5-6600K
  • Intel Core i7-6700K
