We got a little ahead of ourselves for a minute there. Battlfield 3 has not been confirmed for Wii U, but EA did hint at it as a viable platform for games such as Battlfield 3.

Following up on the announcement of its next generation console, the Wii U, Nintendo has announced that one of the platform’s launch titles will be Darksiders II. Nintendo wants Darksiders II to come with the console at launch.
Other games announced for Wii U include Tekken game, Batman: Arkham City, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Dirt, Aliens Colonial Marines, Ghost Recon Online, Maden and Ninja Gaidan 3: Razor’s Edge.
EA suggested that Battlefield 3 will also be available on Wii U, supporting the full online multiplayer and DLC.
