Ubisoft working on "hardcore FPS" for Wii U

7 June 2011

Ubisoft has announced that it is currently working on a bunch of new games for the just announced Nintendo Wii U games console, which is expected to be released next year. The Wii U will finally herald the entry of Nintendo into the HD gaming race, and fittingly perhaps, there is already a steadily growing list of “hardcore” games confirmed for its release.

Ubisoft has announced that it is busy working on a “revolutionary first-person shooter for the hardcore audience.” The game is being developed exclusively for the Wii U console, and joins Darksiders II, Assassin’s Creed II, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online and other action titles scheduled to launch on the new platform from Nintendo.

Ubisoft is also working on a family friendly “multi-sports” game – sounds more like the Nintendo we know.
