The latest rumour to emanate from the might halls of E3 2011 is that Bioware is gearing up to announce a multiplayer component for Mass Effect 3, which is due for release on 6 March 2012.
Counting towards the legitimacy of the rumour is a report from megamers (Middle East gamers) claiming that a reliable source at E3 told them that Bioware will announce multiplayer for Mass Effect 3 towards the end of 2011.
Apparently there will be a horde style co-op multiplayer mode with a variety of maps to choose from. There will also be traditional competitive multiplayer game modes, including Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.
Players will apparently be able to choose between 6 different classes, and there will be a level cap of 60. There will also reportedly be a multiplayer store where players will be able to buy upgrades for weapons etc.
The source claims that the multiplayer compontent is still in the early stages of development, which supposedly explains why Bioware has said nothing yet.
With or without multiplayer, Mass Effect 3 is being released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on 6 March, 2012.
