In news that will make people happy, 2K Games has confirmed that the PC version of Duke Nukem Forever will support dedicated servers. Wait, there’s just a bit of a catch, though – the feature is, somewhat paradoxically, officially “unsupported”. What?
“Got some good news for you today – Duke Nukem Forever on PC will have dedicated servers for our experienced users,” writes 2K’s Elizabeth Tobey on the company’s forums, adding that “This will be an unsupported feature, but it will be there for those that want to use it.”
Oh well, dedicated servers are dedicated servers, which automatically makes Duke Nukem Forever a thousand times better than those baby girly console games with their baby girly p2p matchmaking. Dedicated servers are so butch.
We’ve contacted iGame to find out if they’ll be hosting any local servers, so stay tuned, game fans.
Duke Nukem Forever launches on Friday, and if you live in Joburg, you can go over to the launch party at Hooters in Fourways and stare at boobs. Just to get in character, of course.
