Ubisoft games are now available to play for a monthly subscription.
The creator of hugely popular titles like Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy Ghost Recon, officially launched its Uplay+ subscription for Windows PC yesterday.
Originally announced at E3 this year, UPlay+ allows members to play more than 100 games from Ubisoft’s catalogue. The membership also includes access to new releases, beta programs for unreleased titles and premium content like DLC.
Ubisoft joins Microsoft and EA, who have made their PC titles available to play with a monthly subscription, instead of paying a once-off retail price to own a copy of the game. The services also often include discounts on purchases of games and additional content.
The monthly fee for a UPlay+ account will cost you $14.99 (currently about R226), which is quite expensive when compared to similar subscriptions for PC gaming. Cancellation can be done at any time.
A free trial of the service is available until 30 September 2019.
