MWEB users began reported speeds on their ADSL connections plummeting from around 16h00 yesterday (9 June 2011) and MWEB confirmed that a problem with their IP Connect (IPC) link is affecting the Gauteng area.

“Please note that we are experiencing a problem with our Johannesburg IPC link, our technicians are investigating.”

Users in Port Elizabeth are also reporting problems but MWEB hasn’t confirmed whether this is due to the issue with their Johannesburg IPC.

A representative from MWEB confirmed in the MyBroadband forums that the whole of Gauteng would be experiencing a problem with their ADSL connectivity.

MWEB has since reported that the problem is resolved and advised users to to reboot their routers if they get slow or no data transfer.

MWEB wasn’t immediately available for comment.
