Season 2 of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone is slated to release next week, and Activision has revealed all the new content the season will bring to players.
The new season will add a ranked mode and two new multiplayer maps, Casablanca and Gondola.
In addition to this, two new game modes have been revealed – Caldera Clash and Rebirth Iron Trial – and there will also be several new features and updates for Vanguard, Warzone, and Vanguard Zombies, including new weapons, gameplay tools and points of interest.
New features have also been announced, including Battle Pass details, new ammo types and new vehicles to pilot, as seen in the trailer below.
New game modes
Caldera Clash is a deathmatch game mode where up to two teams of 48 compete to score a set number of points (or the most points after time runs out).
Notably, this mode allows players to use custom loadouts and includes wild events and power-ups.
Rebirth Iron Trials releases later in the season and is a Battle Royale variant for highly competitive players.
It features its own weapon set and rule changes to increase time-to-kill. While it was built with hardcore players in mind, all are free to participate.
New features
Season 2’s Battle Pass also has multiplayer content that’s free for all to use and includes Free Perks, Killstreaks, Equipment, and a new playable character: Anna Drake.
Additionally, new vehicles will be added, allowing the player to pilot motorcycles, squad transport vehicles and tanks along with four new weapons – two midrange tools that’ll release immediately, as well as an Ice Axe and SMG that will be released at a later date.
The Call of Duty Warzone content also includes new ammo types and bombs for alternative combat tactics, Redeploy Balloons for greater mobility, bomber planes, and fresh points of interest in Caldera intended to shake up rotations with patrolling Axis soldiers.
Call of Duty Vanguard Zombies also received several new features.
The Dark Aether opens with a portal in Egypt’s Eastern Desert alongside other new arenas; there is a new Artifact to assist in the battle against the Deceiver, and players will also be able to use new Wonder Weapons, such as the Ray Gun and Decimator Shield, to use in new Objective and Story Quests.
Valentine’s day will also be celebrated with a themed experience and double XP opportunities.
Call of Duty Vanguard and Warzone Season 2 releases on 14 February 2022.
