Velen Studios has announced that they are dropping Electronic Arts (EA) as the publisher for Knockout City this spring and shifting the game to Free-to-Play.
The developer will handle publishing the team-based multiplayer game in-house and explained how this will impact players in a blog post.
Due to the work required to shift to the new business format, there won’t be a new Brawl Pass, new maps or balls for Season 5, and there will also be fewer bundles and cosmetics.
The developer assured fans that this reduced content is only temporary, as they have promised new maps, balls, cosmetics, and features with future seasons.
Season 5 of Knockout City will begin on 1 March; you can watch the season’s announcement trailer below.
Knockout City is available on PC (Steam, Epic Games, Origin), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
