Breath of the Wild sequel delayed to 2023

30 March 2022

Legend of Zelda series producer, Eiji Aonuma, has announced that the highly-anticipated sequel to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is being delayed until Spring 2023.

Aonuma apologised to fans looking forward to the game’s 2022 release and asked for patience as the development team is working hard to provide a unique and engaging experience.

The announcement also provided a few brief segments of gameplay and promised that the sequel would have an expanded world both on the land and in the sky, as well as a wider variety of features to enjoy, new encounters and new gameplay elements.

“To make this game’s experience something special, the entire development team continues to work diligently on this game, so please wait a while longer.” said Aonuma.

After the announcement, NIntendo shares slumped by 6% – showing the disappointment of fans and the anticipation for this sequel.
