Microsoft has confirmed that, in line with its five-year plan to put a Kinect into every household in the entire universe, the upcoming Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary remake will support the controller-free controller in some capacity.
“Core focus for us in our press briefing this year with Kinect actually came from two sides,” Microsoft Game Studios boss Phil Spencer tells Gamespot.
“As a first-party, we believe Kinect will be important to all genres of games, be it racing games with Forza, combat games like Ryse, even games like Halo Anniversary have Kinect integration.”
He didn’t explain how it’s going to work, however. Maybe you shout “XBOX, PEW PEW” to fire, which would be kinda cool.
Microsoft’s E3 conference this year was pretty heavy on Kinect titles, although the catalogue of core games didn’t get much bigger or more impressive. New Kinect-supported titles announced during the presentation include Crytek’s Ryse (previously Codename: Kingdoms), Fable: The Journey, Minecraft, and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
