Sony Japan announced over the weekend a new model of PS3 – the CECH-3000B.
Coming in charcoal black, the power consumption has been reduced from 230W to 200W. Weight has been reduced from 3kg to 2.5kg. The standard accessories are included: One Dual Shock 3 controller, the power cable, AV cable and USB cable. A 320GB HDD is the standard retail package, with no word of other standard retail variations at this point.
There is a special edition version of the CECH-3000 model for a Japanese game no one has heard of called Tales of Xillia (the 13th entrant in the series if Wikipedia is to be believed). This version comes with a 160GB HDD. Picture below to entice the one guy in South Africa that would make the effort of importing one of these collector’s editions.

The Japanese pricing for the product is just about the same as the existing 320GB PS3 ‘slim’ 25xx model, which means that if the gaming gods smile upon us in South Africa, it may cost around R3,899 when it hits our shores.
