Studio Wildcard has announced that ARK: Ultimate Survivor Edition will be released on Nintendo Switch in September.
It will include the base game and its expansions: Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, and Genesis Parts 1 and 2.
Scorched Earth will be available immediately on launch, while the other expansions will follow in two-month intervals.
In addition to the DLC, the Switch version will also include new cinematic story content, custom server support, and an educational mode aimed at younger players wishing to learn more about dinosaurs.
Those who already have ARK: Survival Evolved on the Switch will be able to transfer over characters and progress to the new release, and enjoy the graphical improvements.
Current owners of the game on Switch will receive the updated version of the base game for free; however, there has been no announcement whether this will include the DLC.
ARK: Survival Evolved has acquired a dedicated player base on PC and console; however, the title’s initial release on Nintendo Switch left much to be desired.
The first version of ARK on Switch suffered from blurry textures, frame rate drops and overall graphical inferiority to its PC and other console versions.
The release of the Ultimate Survivor Edition on Switch is intended to correct these issues.
