Activision has announced anti-cheat driver updates for Call of Duty (COD): Vanguard that blinds cheaters to other players and incoming bullets.
The update also prevents cheaters from hearing any sounds from legitimate players’ interactions within the game.
The team behind COD’s anti-cheat systems, Team Ricochet, calls the new feature “cloaking” and added that cheaters will still be visible to non-cheating players.
The security driver improvements have already rolled out globally to COD: Vanguard and will come to Warzone next.
Activision has also confirmed that players who are caught cheating and subsequently banned will be removed from global leaderboards.
Team Ricochet stated that this recent security improvement has already banned an additional 54,000 accounts.
“While we do not announce all bans as they happen, [players should] know they occur both daily and in waves,” it said.
The Cloaking update follows after February’s Damage Shield cheating mitigation feature, which prevents cheaters from dealing any critical damage to opponents.
Activision also acknowledged that cheaters are actively working on new ways to exploit the gameplay systems and bypass new anti-cheat advancements.
Because of this, players are encouraged to use the in-game reporting tools to help in the ongoing efforts against unfair play.
